patina selena planter

We decided it was time to modernize the look of our patio planters to match the look and feel of our fire-bowl and modern Adirondack chairs. After ordering a cube in corten steel from Veradek, we were confident in the high quality from this Canadian company. We wanted to mix some more rusted steel with black, so ordered the Selena from the Patina series to mix with the Mason series in black. The Selena comes with an inner shelf for indoor false planting but we chose to fill it with dirt to the bottom for outdoors. I've dug up some grasses from my garden to get through the winter since we bought these at the end of the planting season. In the spring I will fill with an assortment of perennials. The Selena will continue rusting as the Vancouver rains work their magic this winter!

Veradek Planters, Patina Selena and block long box.

Review Patina Selena, just what I was looking for. But the Veradek marketing photo appears to be a “Terracotta” color/finish but the two I received have a tannish color. Will the iron particles added to the mix change the color over time? Photos added

I’ve been a loyal Veradek customer for years and own several sets of their planters as well as a cooler table, so this purchase was especially disappointing. I ordered the Selena planter in Patina because the website shows a beautiful, rich rust or burnt-orange finish. What arrived was a faded brown planter that was nearly the same colour as the cardboard packaging. There are a few small orange speckles, which seem to show what the colour was supposed to look like, but the overall finish is nothing like the product photos.

The website images are very misleading and do not accurately represent the planter I received.
